QuestCom Completes HP Hood Automated Storage Retrieval System – Winchester, VA

QuestCom provided a turn-key linear heat detection system for the automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) at HP Hood LLC in Winchester, Virginia. The project involved a 13-level ASRS addition that was fully integrated into the facility’s existing fire alarm system to ensure seamless monitoring, alarm reporting, and code compliance.

The new ASRS area encompassed approximately 30,000 square feet within the overall facility, which supports a total occupant load of 3,728. The system was specifically designed to address the unique challenges of high-bay, dense rack storage environments, including limited access, elevated storage heights, and early fire detection requirements. QuestCom’s scope included system design, permitting, equipment furnishing, installation, testing, and commissioning, delivering a fully integrated life-safety solution tailored to automated warehouse operations.
