Project Description
QuestCom provided the complete installation of the electrical infrastructure for Blue Origin’s Building “H” Lunar Plant in Merritt Island, Florida, a 201,832-square-foot, large-scale industrial and advanced space manufacturing facility. The scope of work included power distribution systems featuring (2) 4000A, 480/277V, 3P, 4W Switchboards, 750KVA/750KW UPS and battery cabinets, LED lighting, grounding, and specialized electrical systems, all performed in strict accordance with approved electrical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
QuestCom installed secondary electrical feeders, distribution equipment, multi-level cable tray systems, and utility transformer concrete pads, while coordinating closely with other trades to ensure seamless system integration. The project also included the provision of temporary construction power, mechanical and general power wiring, connections for owner-furnished equipment, and comprehensive grounding systems throughout the facility.
In addition, QuestCom designed and installed a UL-certified lightning protection system and provided complete conduit pathways for data, fire alarm, and other low-voltage systems. The scope further included the installation of all Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) cabinets, supported by dedicated Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination to enhance constructability and field execution.
The fire alarm system was designed in compliance with the 2023 International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and all applicable local amendments, and was fully integrated into a campus-wide, networked fire alarm system.
The life-safety solution included a temporal notification system with dual-action manual pull stations at all required exits, notification appliances throughout the facility, and addressable input/output modules for supervision and control of critical building emergency and ancillary systems. QuestCom’s responsibilities encompassed full system design, permitting, equipment procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning to deliver a fully integrated, code-compliant fire alarm and life-safety system.
This project underscores QuestCom’s proven capability to manage complex electrical and life-safety installations, coordinate effectively across multiple disciplines, and deliver reliable, high-quality, and code-compliant systems for large-scale commercial and industrial clients.
