JOB DESCRIPTION
QuestCom is seeking a full-time Electrical Superintendent to join our team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of large commercial/industrial construction projects and work with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that the project remains on schedule and within allocated budgets. The Electrical Superintendent regularly supervises work of craft employees and subcontractors, inspects and verifies work in progress, and strictly enforces compliance with safety and quality procedures.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Coordinates and directs all electrical and or low voltage scopes on the project including subcontractors and vendors.
- Preplans and schedules project activity on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as required.
- Responsible for holding weekly subcontractor meetings with all subcontractors.
- Responsible for building, updating, and publishing 4-week look ahead schedules and integrate with master project schedule.
- In conjunction with Project Manager and General Superintendent, plan and develop construction techniques and methods, such as underground, form work, tilt-up panel layout, material handling, crew sizing, and task sequencing.
- Prepare daily reports and keep accurate accounting of all project activities.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and scheduling and keep Project Manager and General Superintendent apprised of any job-related delays.
- Responsible for identifying and reporting to the Project Manager any extra work requested by the owner, general contractor, or site driven change conditions that deviates from the original project scope.
- Responsible for day-to-day quality control of both self-performed and subcontracted work.
- Responsible for on-site safety and accident control, investigate and reports all incidents to appropriate stakeholders.
- Hold safety meetings weekly and implement effective safety practices and procedures.
- Responsible and accountable for fostering a positive relationship with craft employees, subcontractors, general contractor and owner representatives.
- Responsible for on-site training of employees in an effort to strengthen knowledge of project specific tasks.
- Work in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Director to meet quality, financial, and safety initiatives.
- Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, Field Administrators, Field Safety Officers and Subcontractors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master and or Journeyman certification is required.
- Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated history of successful leadership.
- 5+ years of experience as a superintendent in a commercial and or industrial construction.
- Strong attention to detail and schedules is required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Nationwide travel for extended periods of time is required.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license is required.
