Project Description

QuestCom was engaged in late 2021 to develop low voltage drawings associated with In-N-Out Burger’s new southern California Meat Processing Facility and associated supporting buildings. QuestCom designed and permitted drawings associated with telecommunications, access control, paging, audio/visual, fire alarm, and an emergency radio responder communication system. The site consisted of the main meat processing and supporting offices building (350,000 SF), a fleet maintenance building (50,000 SF), a supporting warehouse building (120,000 SF), fire pump building, and two guardhouses.

Upon substantial completion of the design documents QuestCom was selected to build out the low voltage systems. Site work consisted of a mile long campus wide fiber optic loop connecting all structures together, a customized sliding gate/gate arm control system for seven different entry or exit lanes, and a site wide exterior camera system.

Within the buildings QuestCom was responsible for the entire telecommunications system, originating at the Server Room within the Main building and reaching to all buildings. A total of twenty remote IDF rooms or cabinets were utilized within the buildings. QuestCom installed over three miles of wire basket tray to support the telecommunications system, camera system, access control system, paging system, voluntary lockdown alert system, ammonia alert system, and fire alarm system.

QuestCom was responsible for all conduit and pathway needs within the buildings including stainless steel conduit pathways within the process areas, tilt-up panel in wall pathways, office area stub-ups, and in-slab pathways.

The QuestCom designed, permitted, and installed fire alarm system is a Class A networked designed system tying all six buildings together. The annunciator within the guardhouse actively communicates the status of all six buildings for localized monitoring.
